At CMVA we aspire to educate and inform those whose wish to enter the world of Microstock. You bring the talent and we bring the tools to create the new and exciting illustrations of the future. We provide videos of step-by-step instruction and show you how to create vector artwork using either Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW.

If you're just starting out we have beginners tutorials. If you're an experienced vector artist we provide invaluable information that can help you avoid some of the pitfalls that newcomers to the Microstock world face. You'll also learn how to create specific images in order to have hands on experience using the techniques we describe in our lessons. We teach you the steps you need to take in order to become part of the world of Microstock.

My name is Albert Wesley Floyd. I'm a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of the Arts and the owner and operator of CMVA.

I've worked as a graphic artist, illustrator, screen-print artist, airbrush artist and painter. I consider myself proficient as a graphic artist and illustrator, but I am also practiced in the use of traditional media including oil and acrylic painting as well as ink and pencil illustration. I've had several exhibits as a painter in the Virginia and DC areas. Here are some examples of my paintings.

I've had success as a traditional artist but once I turned my attention to computer graphics there was no turning back. I created this website to share with you some of my techniques and knowledge so that you can advance your own career by entering the world of Microstock art.

Why would I teach people how to do what I do when they may become my competitors? Well, I think there's room for all of us. I think the market is so huge (and growing daily) that we can all find success with our artwork. What better way to learn than from someone who has been there and is currently a working Microstock contributor.

It's one of the greatest times in history to be an artist. Making a living as any kind of artist can be a challenge, but the opportunities that exist today because of the internet are amazing. Microstock offers us one way to not only express ourselves and hone our skills, it also can make us a little or a lot of money. There are a wide range of artists with a wide range of skills in the world of Microstock vector art. How much success you have is up to you. If you're serious about becoming a Microstock artist CMVA is here to help you on your way.
